Guidelines for Author

Types of paper

Contributions falling into the following categories will be considered for publication: research papers, case reports, book review and technical notes.

• Research Papers:

A research paper typically ranges from 5,000 to 8,000 words. It presents innovative research on different management and social science topics that makes a potentially significant and long-range contribution to research and practice. The paper should be rigorously researched, clearly written, and well organized.

• Case Reports:

A case report typically ranges from 5,000 to 8,000 words. It introduces critically current practice on the topics in detail based on specific cases. The author should explain why the chosen case is chosen, and what lessons it has for the broader international context. The case details are outlined so that practitioners can easily identify the lessons learned. The report should analyze why the specific cases succeeded or failed using clear criteria. The case should be critically analyzed, clearly written, and well organized.

• Book Reviews:

A book review typically ranges from 1,000 to 2,000 words. It reviews critically a book published within two years on the topic of management. The review contains mainly two parts: introduction to the contents of the book and critical evaluation of the academic contribution of the book. It may be submitted freely or by invitation.

• Technical Notes:

A technical note typically ranges from 3,000 to 5,000 words. It provides a brief account of the logic for a particular new research idea and may be used to describe a new methodology or to present results from new techniques. The note should be analytical in nature and could be presented in mathematics, computer algorithms, logic, or words. It should be clearly written and well organized to clarify a particular research viewpoint

Guidelines for Manuscript

• Abstract should be of 200 words with 3-4 key words given at the end.
• Include Tables, Graphs, Footnotes, Endnotes, and References at the appropriate places in the text and Bibliographies should be given at end of the Manuscript. There should be1 cm. margin on all sides of the page.

• Proper acknowledgement should be made in case of cited material. Permission should be obtained for any copyrighted material quoted in the text or used in preparing tables or graphs. They can be numbered in alphabetic order or in order of appearance in the document. When referring to them in the text, type the corresponding reference number in square brackets as [1].
• The papers received for publications (other than Ph. D. abstracts) will be sent to subject experts (reviewers) for the review. Their remarks in turn (involving corrections, resubmission etc.) will be communicated to the contributor and will be asked to resubmit in a reasonable time.

All data, views, opinions, etc. that are published in this Journal are the sole responsibility of the individual author. Neither the Publisher nor the Editor is in any way responsible for it. The Author is solely responsible for taking permission from earlier publications for inclusion in their paper. The Journal shall not be responsible for any copyright infringement.

Tables

Please submit tables as editable text and not as images. Tables can be placed either next to the relevant text in the article, or on separate page(s) at the end. Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text and place any table notes below the table body. Be sparing in the use of tables and ensure that the data presented in them do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article. Please avoid using vertical rules and shading in table cells.

References

Citation in text

Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). Any references cited in the abstract must be given in full. Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the reference list, but may be mentioned in the text. If these references are included in the reference list, they should follow the standard APA reference style of the journal and should include a substitution of the publication date with either 'Unpublished results' or 'Personal communication'. Citation of a reference as 'in press' implies that the item has been accepted for publication.

Reference links

Increased discoverability of research and high-quality peer review are ensured by online links to the sources cited. In order to allow us to create links to abstracting and indexing services, please ensure that data provided in the references are correct. Please note that incorrect surnames, journal/book titles, publication year and pagination may prevent link creation. When copying references, please be careful as they may already contain errors. Use of the DOI is highly encouraged.

A DOI is guaranteed never to change, so you can use it as a permanent link to any electronic article. Please note the format of such citations should be in the same style as all other references in the paper.

Web references

As a minimum, the full URL should be given and the date when the reference was last accessed. Any further information, if known (DOI, author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given. Web references can be listed separately (e.g., after the reference list) under a different heading if desired, or can be included in the reference list.

Data references

This journal encourages you to cite underlying or relevant datasets in your manuscript by citing them in your text and including a data reference in your Reference List. Data references should include the following elements: author name(s), dataset title, data repository, version (where available), year, and global persistent identifier.

Submission

Submission to this journal proceeds totally online. Use the following guidelines to prepare your article. Via the homepage of this journal (http://samvad.sibmpune.edu.in/index.php/samvad/about/submissions#onlineSubmissions) you will be guided stepwise through the creation and uploading of the various files. The system automatically converts source files to a single PDF version of the article, which is used in the peer-review process. Please note that even though manuscript source files are converted to PDF at submission for the review process, these source files are needed for further processing after acceptance. All correspondence, including notification of the Editor's decision and requests for revision, takes place by e-mail and via the author's homepage, removing the need for a hard-copy paper trail. If you are unable to provide an electronic version, please contact the editorial office prior to submission. e-mail: poornimatapas@sibmpune.edu.in

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

In selecting articles for publication, the editor gives preference to articles of larger significance that are well written, well organized, and intelligible to the multidisciplinary audience. SAMVAD aims to publish articles of top-quality work having larger impact.

Review process is double- blind. All scholarly submissions (articles) first receive a preliminary assessment to determine their suitability for the focus, target audience, and style of the journal. Then they are put to Turnitin check for plagiarism. Submissions judged potentially suitable are then given an in-depth anonymous peer review, typically by two external experts. Reviewers judge submissions for timeliness of topics, significance, and technical quality. Results of the review process are normally available within two months of submission. Outcomes of the review process include acceptance, acceptance with revisions, or rejection.

If authors are requested to revise and resubmit, there is no guarantee that the resubmission will be reviewed by the same reviewers or that the revised submission will be accepted. Extensive review comments are provided only when necessary to authors whose manuscripts are conditionally accepted for publication. Resubmission can be done only one time.

Articles that are rejected include those that are poorly written or organized, too elementary, or too long without much significance. Rejected articles are not re-reviewed.

Book reviews, reports, are not peer reviewed.
